Description
This small word changes the action word, the verb to modify it’s performance. The function of adverbs is to describe how, when, where, or why an action is about to be undertaken. For example, Laura will sing tomorrow; the action is ‘sing’ but the adverb tells us when Laura will sing – ‘tomorrow’.
Optional use of the grammar verb symbols can be incorporated. A big red sphere represents the verb, and the adverb symbol, is a small, orange circle. These symbols are not included in this game but are sold separately.

- Does it make sense? If yes, they leave the adverb card there and select a second card to repeat the exercise
- If it does not make sense, they remove the adverb card from the first noun word and try it with the second noun word.
- They continue testing each adverb to the verb word until the phrase sounds logical.
