A Montessori shelf requires many trays, baskets & containers.
The Child is free to explore and choose their work independently, thereby beginning the process of decision making. Trays keep the lessons organized, allowing the Child to return the activity to the shelf on completion. This encourages the need to keep the classroom tidy and with a sense of order.
