In a Montessori classroom, a workspace is defined by Rugs and Mats. This provides a private place for them to work without interruption, and satisfies the Child’s sense of order, by providing them with a defined place to set up, and work their activities.
All children learn to respect the various rug areas; which also helps to reduce distractions, allowing total concentration.
