Description
Key Purposes & Benefits
-
Refining the Release: Dropping a ball into a specific hole is much harder for a Child than simply dropping it on the floor. It teaches the Child how to voluntarily release an object at a precise moment.
-
Basic Spatial Awareness: The Child begins to understand the relationship between the size of the ball and the size of the hole.
-
Focus and Concentration: This is often one of the first materials that triggers “repetition,” where a Child will perform the task dozens of times in a row, entering a state of deep focus.
-
Building Confidence: Because a ball is symmetrical, it will fit into the hole no matter how the Child holds it. This ensures a high success rate, which builds the Child’s confidence for more difficult shapes later.
How it is Used
-
Grasping: The Child uses their whole hand (palmar grasp) to pick up the ball.
-
The Aim: The Child brings the ball over the box and aligns it with the circular opening.
-
The Disappearance: The ball is released and falls into the box, disappearing from sight.
-
The Retrieval: The child either opens the drawer to find the ball.

This is a beautiful piece of equipment and fantastic for little curious minds. I also like that the ball is big enough for little mouths not too be swollowed.
Thank you
