Description
Sensitive period’s start around three years old. One of these periods is the need to sort and match things. The Shadow Matching Activity fits into this developmental period. Make sure that the Child can recognise like images before attempting this exercise.
Children find working with shadow matching exercises deeply satisfying. Their concentration and focus increases the more they practice these different activities. Children gain great satisfaction repeating these exercises until they master them. These exercises lay the foundation of vocabulary, reading and writing skills. As the Child develops, we can observe how their memory develops.
In the past, we used to talk about “readiness skills” for school. We now talk about, pre-literacy skills. Certain early behaviours and skills will help the Child to learn how to read successfully. This term defines the Childs level of skill to recognise letters, numbers and shapes. The shadow matching activity cards fall into this category.
