Description
Earthworms are no longer viewed with horror! Most people now know how important they are for fertilising, and improving the quality of soil. The Parts of an Earthworm Activity explains how they breakfown dead; and decomposing organic matter; and derive their nutrition from the bacteria, and fungi that grow upon these materials. They fragment the organic matter; and as they feed; they aerate the soil with their burrowing action.
Based upon the Montessori zoological curriculum, earthworms belong to the Annelida phylum, and the material is colour-coded with a beige border around each card. Combining the simplicity of a 3-part cards set, a booklet; that comprehensively covers detailed descriptions about earthworms; and definition cards. It is aimed at both the 3 to 6, and the 6 to 9 environments.
