Description
Contrary to popular belief, centipedes do not have 100 legs! They are fast-moving nocturnal animals, which form part of the arthropod classification. The Parts of a Centipede Activity, provides the Child with the correct terminology for the eight main parts making up the crab, and this includes many interesting facts.
There are over 3,000 species, globally, according to the Brittanica, some even live above the arctic circle. Centipedes use a venom to kill their prey, which consists of spiders, centipedes, worms and crickets, amongst other insects.
Based upon the Montessori zoological curriculum, centipedes belong to the Arthropoda phylum, and the material is colour-coded with a yellow border around each card. Combining the simplicity of a 3-part cards set, a booklet; that comprehensively covers detailed descriptions about centipedes; and definition cards. It is aimed at both the 3 to 6, and the 6 to 9 environments.
