Description
Did you know that a Scorpion can be put into a freezer for the night, and survive! Another fun fact about them is that they glow under ultraviolet light. It is thought that they developed this ability to attract insects at night. This product, Parts of a Scorpion Activity, identifies 9 different parts of the scorpion. They fall under the same family as that of spiders, i.e. they form part of the order of arachnids.
There are over 2,000 species across 6 of the 7 continents, and they eat small insects. Because they generally live in very harsh environments, i.e. deserts, they have adapted by being able to slow down their metabolism; to survive; if food is scarce. Based upon the Montessori zoological curriculum, the material is colour-coded with a yellow border around each card. Combining the simplicity of a 3-part cards set, a booklet; that comprehensively covers detailed descriptions about scorpions; and definition cards. It is aimed at both the 3 to 6, and the 6 to 9 environments.
