Description
The Metal Squares with 9 Plates is a Montessori activity to help the Child learn about geometry. This activity focuses on exercises of equivalence, congruence, and similar figures. This provides an alternate approach to teaching fractions, by demonstrating the division of a square using concrete materials. The Child will learn, and identify wholes, halves, fourths, eighths, and sixteenths.
Features of the Metal Squares with 9 Plates
By working with these squares, the Child gains a concrete and sensorial understanding of equivalence, and congruence, which serves as a foundation for further mathematical and geometric concepts. This hands-on approach allows the child to actively engage with the material, fostering independent thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
