Life Cycle of Snake Objects

All snakes are born with an egg tooth that they use to break the shell or the membrane when finding their way out. The egg tooth wears out immediately after the birth process is complete.  This activity provides a realistic means to study life and to improve vocabulary.

Description

The Life Cycle of Snake Objects features 4 miniature objects that depict the four stages of a snake’s development from birth to an adult.  These objects form an integral part of the Montessori teaching, providing a tangible learning resource for the Child.  Handling the objects, the Child’s muscles absorb the look and feel of the individual parts of the snake, allowing them to always visualise the objects when these reptiles are mentioned.

Use these objects together with the Life Cycle of a Snake Activity to expand their vocabulary, improve reading skills and to learn about nature.

Contents:

  • 4 plastic miniature objects describing each life cycle stage of this reptile’s growth
  • depending upon the breed, the mother gives birth to either live baby snakes, or eggs, from which Snakelets hatch
  • juvenile snake, which moult approximately four times a year
  • adult snake – 9 cm / (3.5″)
  • BPA-free and non-toxic
