Description
It is important for children to learn all about the snakes that they are likely to find, in their part of the world. The Parts of a Snake Activity teaches children all about how they move, smell, eat and give birth. Caregivers need to also explain what snakes in the Child’s environment look like, where they can be found; i.e. in the Bushveld; and how to avoid them. This is important so that children know what to do when they encounter one, and avoid injury.
Snakes have learned to live alongside humans, but prefer to avoid them. Venom is precious to a snake as they need it to protect themselves, and for hunting their prey. Snakes will never hunt humans, but some of them can be more aggressive than others. The various types of snakes have different types of venom, and some even have a combination of venoms.
Based upon the Montessori zoological curriculum, the material is colour-coded with a brown border around each card. Combining the simplicity of a 3-part cards set, a booklet; that comprehensively covers detailed descriptions about snakes; and definition cards. It is aimed at both the 3 to 6, and the 6 to 9 environments.
Examples of the Word Cards
