The objective of the miniature farm objects, is to introduce, and reinforce grammar concepts. The sow is one of those farm objects. You can use them in other grammar activities, such as the ‘I Spy’ game.
A sow is a female pig; can also be called a gilt. Gilts are female pigs who have not yet borne young. Female pigs who have had young are called sows.
