The order of the Planets of the Solar System Objects, starting from the sun, and working outward is the following:
These objects include the Sun as a “planet“, however, the Sun is actually a star, not a planet. In August 2006, Pluto was downgraded from a “planet” to a “dwarf” planet. Each one of these planets (excluding Pluto), and the Sun are depicted in these objects. The planets of the solar system objects, are small and work well in an activity describing their various orbits around the Sun.
In 2016, researchers proposed the possible existence of a ninth planet, for now dubbed “Planet Nine“, or Planet X. The planet is estimated to be about 10 times the mass of Earth and to orbit the sun between 300 and 1,000 times farther than the orbit of the Earth.
The objects are sold in a small plastic container to keep them safe and for display on the Montessori shelf.
Size of the container: 10 x 7.5 x 4 cm / (4″ x 3″ x 1.5″)
