Description
Becca Bee…
who dreams of being a Queen!
A delightful story of a little bee, flying around as she dreams of being THE Queen Bee. However, the further she flies, the less power in her wings, and so they begin to droop.
Her flight takes her from one set of animals, to another, each of which has a life lesson for her. Slowly, she realises that being the Queen Bee, might not be as exciting as she thought. She wouldn’t have so much freedom, or be able to fly wherever she wished. She would have to look after others, have a large numbers of babies, amongst other issues.
Finally, the butterfly freeing his beautiful wings from the chrysalis, convinces Becca that she would be “happy being me!” An intriguing story for all ages, it’s one that teachers, learners, and families will enjoy reading again and again. Children are able to place themselves in this story, and so build their own confidence to “be me!”
Beyond the story, an eight-page fact section bursts with descriptive real life photographs of various bees and flowers. These captivating facts and photographs, highlight their functions in pollinating flowers. Children learn all about pollination, why it is so important and the role of bees, and what would happen if we didn’t have them.
The book concludes with a fun-filled board game—the Becca Bee’s Adventure board game, —perfect for the whole family, as it reinforces every key fact from the story.
