Description

Childrens House developed the Walking Calculator, with the Child in mind.  It is an activity, offering another interpretation of place values of numbers.  A lovely extension to use after the child has worked with the golden bead material.

A large mat, with place values for the units, tens, hundreds and thousands, has colour-coded columns to match the Montessori Hierarchy of Numbers.  The Child gets endless fun as they “walk out” their addition, subtraction, multiplication and division equations on the walking calculator.
