Description
A first introduction to visual discrimination of size and dimension
Between the ages of 2.5 and 3.5 years, young children begin sorting and ordering items. These block cylinders take advantage of this sensitive period to introduce products that will teach them the various methods of ordering by height, width and dimension. The Toddler Cylinder Blocks introduces the Child to differences in size. There are 4 cylinders in each of the 4 blocks.
These cylinders, indirectly focus’ the Child’s attention, on visual discrimination of size and dimension. This product does not form part of Maria Montessori’s traditional activities; but because parents and teachers requested this mini-version of the standard cylinder blocks; we sourced this product for them.
What is the difference between each cylinder?
- 1st Set: the measurements of the cylinders’ height and diameter decreases
- 2nd Set: the measurements of the cylinders’ diameter decreases as the height increases
- 3rd Set: the measurements of the cylinders’ diameter decreases as the height remains constant
- 4th Set: the measurements of the cylinders’ height decreases as the diameter increases
