Description
Maria Montessori advocated the use of glass, and crockery to teach children how easy it is to break them. Demonstrate how to use the tall glass that holds 100ml, before offering it to the Child.
Why do Montessori classrooms use ‘real’ glass and crockery?
Some important points are:
- to sit at a table when eating or drinking
- glass / crockery is fragile, and breaks if it is dropped
- there is a possibility the Child could cut themselves if they break the item
