Description
Prefixes and suffixes often get confused. Prefixes are a little easier to identify, because “pre-” indicates before, offering children a clue as to whereabouts the letters are added to the root word.
Once children have worked through the examples that we include, the teacher could ask them to attempt to find their own ‘new’ words, that can be changed by the addition of a prefix. This activity could produce some hilarious responses.
