It also explains the concept of “carrying” values of units, tens, hundreds and thousands. The columns on the mat are colour coded to match the Montessori Hierarchy of Numbers. A “holding” column on the left-hand side, displays the various math equations.
Utilize the small and large number cards, along with the Golden Bead Material, placed on the working mat, in order to perform arithmetic calculations.
The mat is supplied in a clear plastic folder for storage on the shelf in the classroom.
