Description
Sponges have been around for a very long time. Fossils of sponges dating back to 60-million years have been found. Approximately 8,550 living sponge species have been scientifically classified in the phylum Porifera. This activity, the Parts of a Sponge Activity, is based upon the Montessori zoological curriculum and helps the Child develop reading skills.
This material combines the simplicity of a 3-part cards set, a booklet, that comprehensively covers detailed descriptions about sponges, and definition cards. It is aimed at both the 3 to 6 and the 6 to 9 environments.
