Description
Did you know that a spider is the true superhero? The silk that the spider spins is actually stronger, and tougher than steel. There are over 100 species of spiders that mimic ants, by having evolved similar appearances, and even similar pheromones. It is thought that they do this to evade predators, but some do it to help them prey on ants. This product, Parts of a Spider Activity, identifies 9 different parts of the spider, and includes many interesting facts. Spiders fall under the order of arachnids.
There are over 40,000 species across 6 of the 7 continents. According to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, individual species can produce up to seven distinct types of silk, each with a specialised function.
Based upon the Montessori zoological curriculum, this material is colour-coded with a yellow border around each card. Combining the simplicity of a 3-part cards set, a booklet; that comprehensively covers detailed descriptions about spiders; and definition cards. It is aimed at both the 3 to 6, and the 6 to 9 environments.

very happy with my purchase. I have been buying from Childrens House since last year. I like a shop that makes their own stuff.
