Description
This activity; Our Earth – a Map – Book 1; introduces the Child to aspects that indicate various positions on the Earth for example:
world | axis | North Pole | South Pole | Prime meridian |
equator | Eastern Hemisphere | Western Hemisphere | Northern Hemisphere | Southern Hemisphere |
Whenever these words are used, the Child will instinctively know which part of the world is being described. The booklet explains how the Earth continuously moves in two directions, around the Sun. This discussion references the time and seasons, which the Child has already worked with; and therefore finds familiar; easily aligning themselves to this activity.
