This is the 2nd globe that is introduced to children. Thereafter, they use the world puzzle map. Children as young as 3.5 years old, introduced to this stereognostic globe, observe that each continent is a different color. These colors trigger memory association, which are used throughout the Montessori curriculum.

A Montessori classroom uses a specialized globe of the continents. This globe displays all seven continents, each of which has a particular colour to encourage memory by association. These colours are perpetuated through the curriculum.
This work leads to the introduction of the World Puzzle Map.
The wooden base of the globe, holds the globe of the continents at a 23° angle, the same as the earth’s axis in relation to the sun. The height of the globe is 19 cm / (7.5″).
