Activity cards designed for the advanced, pre-literacy child.  The Fruit Matching – Inside and Outside – set of cards takes the abstract to a completely new level.  When fruits are sliced in half, they look different to the outside.  The Child needs to understand this fact to complete this activity.

This activity has a large number of cards.  We suggest that the teacher selects between 5 and 8 sets of cards for the children to work with.  Once they can identify these fruits comfortably, they move onto the next selection.

Features of the Fruit Matching – Inside and Outside

• the vibrantly coloured illustrations attract the children
• the different fruits range from the common to less common depending upon where the Child lives
• examples of the cards:  apples, grapes, lime, litchi, dragon fruit, butternut, brinjal, avocado, etc.

  • to improve the Child’s matching skills
  • develop their visual perception
• indirectly the objectives are to:
  • extend their vocabulary
  • challenge the Child to look beyond the obvious
  • improve focus, concentration and self-esteem
  • helps develop reading skills

• 2 sets of 25 cards each, illustrating common and unusual fruits of all varieties
• match the set
  • 1st card depicts the fruit as a whole,
  • 2nd card display the inside of the fruit
• sold in a transparent, plastic A6 envelope
