Description
Once an infant has mastered the art of standing, the Child quickly begins to negotiate the room, to investigate items of interest to them. The unique Montessori-styled Ball Tracker stands at the perfect height to claim the toddlers attention. It won’t be long before the toddler demands to “do it for himself”. The light-weight wooden balls fit into the toddlers small hand with ease. The base is a rectangular box, attached to the sides of the tracker, thus providing sufficient support should the toddler use the product to “pull” themselves up to stand next to it.
Learning how to track the movement of the ball running from one end to the other and to drop down onto the next track, is the direct objective. This improves focus and concentration and indirectly prepares their eye for left to right movement. Once the Child has gained some experience with the tracker, the care giver can present the colours to the Child, possibly by talking to the infant e.g. “the ball is now moving down the green track and it is now on the next track, the pink one”. and so they will instinctively understand that each colour has a name.
The sturdy ball tracker is partially constructed from Birch plywood. You are required to secure the base to the central upright tracker with the 4 screws we provide.
