Description
“Literacy is a complicated, integrative process that involves associating symbols with sounds, sounds with words, and words with ideas. The Child has to learn how to encode ideas into symbols and decode symbols into ideas.” (read more) This is never more obvious, than when the Child is trying to understand the concept of articles. We offer objects with word cards in the article box. This activity provides the Child with a concrete means of differentiating between an object; or thing; in a group of objects or things, or an object; or things; standing alone.
This fulfills the objective of the Montessori method of education; a self-directed activity; that provides hands-on learning, together with collaborative play. This material provides the Child with sufficient resources to creatively find ways to achieve the direct objective of this work, while a highly-trained Directress; or facilitator; guides the process.
