Description
The activity, Antonyms, introduces another part of speech, that of opposites. The word antonym, originates from the Greek and means ‘the opposite’. There are three types of antonyms:
- two totally different words
- words which have un-, in-, im- added to them to indicate they are the opposite
- words starting with dis-, mis-, or end with -less, to indicate that they are the opposite
This activity consists of 3 control lists of words, with separate word cards, to be matched to the opposite word.
