ED – Motor Development. Fine  motor  skills  are  all  about  the  co-ordination  of  small  muscle  movements  mostly  in  body  parts such  as  the  fingers,  usually  in  coordination  with  the  eyes.  The  main  goal  is  to  prepare  children for  writing.  Tying  shoelaces,  using  scissors  and  completing  a  puzzle  are  activities  which stimulate  fine  motor  skills.

Gross motor skills are all about movements of the large muscle groups and whole body movement. The main goal for children is to move in a flexible way. Playing hide and seek, aiming for a goal and modeling clay are activities which stimulate the gross motor skills.
