Life Cycles – Activity Sets

“To make it clear whether or not a child has understood, we should see whether he can form a vision of it within the mind, whether he has gone beyond the level of mere understanding.”

Maria Montessori, To Educate the Human Potential, p.10

Childrens House recently produced 5 new products called Life Cycle Activity Sets.  They feature 5 well known subjects; the Chicken, Frog, Green Bean Plant, Turtle and Ladybird.

Note: the Objects are sold separately.

Life cycles are all around us.  They are part of us and part of every living thing.  Explaining and illustrating life cycles can be an important milestone for children, helping them to learn how better to respect and care for those around them.  This can help children to understand and deal with everyday changes and growth around them.

This comprehensive activity guides the 3 to 9 year old child through their learnings and understanding of the life cycle of the chicken. The holistic approach to this material takes the Child from the concrete to the abstract. Note: the objects are sold separately

Teaching about life cycles is more about the wonder of the cosmic world, about sequencing and vocabulary than the science. These different aspects of the activity, nomenclature, working sheet with objects (which are sold separately), images and labels and definition cards are beautifully represented here.

All the Childrens House activities are carefully designed to integrate with the life cycle objects, as recommended by the AMI approved curriculum. The beautifully detailed, stunningly coloured images are color-coded to match the Montessori Animal Kingdom classification.   Printed on recyclable, non-tear paper using eco-friendly inks our cards do not require lamination.  These sets are delivered in a plastic box with lid for storage.

The price of this material may surprise you!  Compare our professional product to what your costs would be – factor in the cost of printing laminating and time.  Childrens House definitely offers great value.
