Position Overview

Greene Towne Montessori School is seeking a Primary Lead Guide to join its All-Day Montessori program serving children ages 3 to 6.

This role leads a high-fidelity Montessori Primary environment within an extended-day model designed to provide continuity of care, relationships, and learning across the full school day. The Primary Lead Guide is responsible for the academic and developmental leadership of the classroom while working within a collaborative teaching team.

About the All-Day Montessori Program

Greene Towne’s All-Day Montessori program is designed for families seeking a consistent, extended-day Montessori experience. The program minimizes transitions and maintains continuity of environment, relationships, and pedagogy throughout the day.

  • Program hours: 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Children are supported by morning and afternoon teaching teams
  • Families may enroll on a 9-month or 12-month basis
  • The program supports the full developmental needs of the child: physical, emotional, social, and cognitive

Program Structure

  • All-Day Montessori classroom (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM coverage)
  • Co-lead teaching model with shared classroom responsibility
  • Year-round (September–August)

Role Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain an authentic Montessori Primary (3–6) environment
  • Deliver Montessori presentations across all curriculum areas
  • Guide children in developing independence, concentration, and a love of learning
  • Lead classroom planning, organization, and overall program implementation
  • Collaborate closely within a multi-person classroom team
  • Mentor and support Assistant Teachers
  • Ensure continuity of the classroom experience across the extended-day structure
  • Observe, assess, and document student progress
  • Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation
  • Build strong, professional relationships with families through regular communication
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school initiatives

Qualifications

  • Montessori credential (AMI, AMS, or MACTE-accredited) in Early Childhood (3–6)
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading or co-leading a Montessori Primary classroom preferred
  • Strong classroom leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative, team-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with Transparent Classroom and Google Suite is an advantage
