First Aid Kits

First Aid Kits: The teaching material you never knew you needed.

And so, we discovered that education is not something which the teacher does, but that it is a natural process which develops spontaneously in the human being. It is not acquired by listening to words, but in virtue of experiences in which the child acts on his environment. The teacher’s task is not to talk, but to prepare and arrange a series of motives for cultural activity in a special environment made for the child.” (The Absorbent Mind)

First Aid Kit

Bumps, cuts and silly bruises often occur in our everyday lives. Whether it be from a paper cut or accidentally missing a step or two down the stairs, there will be always be a moment when you are desperately in need of a band-aid.  The same goes for in a school. Scrapes, bumps and bruises are a natural part of a child’s development within their environment. They soon learn that certain actions can cause accidents.

However, accidents do happen. This is where First Aid comes to the rescue.

First Aid not only acts as a physical remedy to injury, but also a mental one.  It can also act as an opportunity to learn.  For example, if a student scrapes her knee, first aid needs to be administered. The Educator can, step by step, explain to the child why she is (for example)  applying a plaster to the child’s knee.  By turning the process into a narrative, the child will learn and understand the purpose of first aid.

To assist you in this emergency lesson, Childrens House has developed a first aid kit to add to your classroom necessities.  We did all the research and investigation, and you can take comfort in the knowledge that you have a kit that is fit for purpose.

Our featured product abides by the regulations set out by the Department of Health. For every twenty students per class, a regulation 3 First Aid Kit needs to be available; (as provided in the Occupational Health and Safety Act).
